Subject: Need a sick day

Dear Darlene,

I’m sorry but I cannot come into work today. I have had a high fever and sore throat since last night. I think I caught the flu just as two other people in our office did. I will be going to the clinic just a block east of here as soon as it opens at 9:30.

I do have a meeting with Mr. Chris Bottiger today at 1:30 to show him the house for sale on Lansdowne Street. Last night, I phoned one of our other agents, Lisa Tompkins, and asked her to cover for me in case I couldn’t make it. Lisa agreed to look after it.

Hopefully I will be able to return to work tomorrow.

Regards,

Nina Martinez
