The Carleton District Public Library (CDPL) will be closed from May 26 to July 5. The library will undergo extensive renovations including repainting the walls, replacing the old flooring, and adding a wing. These renovation will be the first ever done at CDPL since it was founded by Mr. George Demerchant 35 years ago.
Renovation will be temporarily halted on June 25 to put in more desks and chairs. Once that is done, crews plan to continue repairs on June 26.
Anyone in the Carleton are will still be able to use public libraries in Scarborough City. If you would like to make use of other public libraries during the renovation period, simply show your library card to any employee at CDPL and ask for a city library pass. In addition to borrowing books, this pass also allows you to use Internet service in public libraries and participate in any workshops hosted by those libraries at no charge. Please note that this pass cannot be used at the Wilmot Reference Library near Gladford Subway Station as that library contains mainly academic books for local university students. Please pick up your pass before May 25.
