MEMORANDUM

Date: May 16th

To: All Freelance Writers

From: Editor-in-Chief

Re: New System for Payment Records

Starting June 1st, the payroll department at the Devon Herald will be using a software program to keep track of all wages for freelance reporters. Until now, each reporter has simply sent an e-mail on the 28th of every month to payroll listing the title of the article, the date it was printed and the payment expected. This software package uses a similar system except each writer will need a specific user ID and password to access his or her own pay record.

Ms. Rhea, the assistant director of payroll, will send an e-mail to each freelance reporter during the last week of this month. This e-mail will contain your user ID and password along with step-by-step instructions about how to enter your article information into the site.

If you still have difficulty with the site, please phone either Ms. Sachiko Kobayashi in technical support at 763-9921 extension or Mr. Keith Dunbar in payroll at 763-9221 extension 17.

Dear Mr. Cheng,

Thank you very much for deciding to renew your yearly membership to the Stetson Art Gallery. We received your renewal slip in the mail this morning. We have truly enjoyed having you as part of our community for the past four years.

You currently have Silver membership status, but may I recommend upgrading it to Gold status? Previous, the administration here at Stetson required that an individual has a Silver membership for at least five years before being allowed to upgrade, but this condition was revised about two weeks ago. Now, three years is the minimum amount of time necessary, but many members are not aware of this becausewe have not had a chance to add this information to our Web site and pamphlets.

Please note that the difference in price between a Silver and Gold membership isnot great with a Silver costing $35 and a Gold costing $40 a year. Plus, Gold status does allow free admission to six exhibits every year, including City Scenes from February 12 to 26. This particular exhibit will feature 15 watercolor paintings by a local artist Rex Giddings, and 12 photographs by Sarka Polak, professional photographer and owner of Polak Studios located just a few blocks from the gallery.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please reply to this message or phone me at 403-8612.

Sincerely yours,

Michael Pavalec, Membership Department
