Help Rebuild Grafton

Restaurants from the eastern regions of Marysville and Geary, and the southern region of Beechwood are participating in “Dine Out For Grafton.”

On April 16, the Emery River running through the town of Grafton flooded. The flood was caused when huge amounts of ice that had formed during the long, cold winter melted. Even though nobody was injured, the water caused extensive damage to the Westmore Bridge, Ellis Hospital and George Street Middle School. In addition, the basements of 75 private homes were also damaged.

To help rebuild the town, concerned residents and restaurant owners in nearby areas have organized “Dine Out For Grafton” to take place on April 26 and 27. Restaurant owners in Geary and Beachwood have pledged to donate 15% of all money taken in from guests during those two days. Marysville restaurant owners have promised to give 20% to the cause. If your restaurant is interested in participating, please send an e-mail to Ms. Eleanor McMann, the event organizer, atemcman@toppermail.com before 23 with “Dine Out For Grafton” in the subject line.

Dear Ms. McMann,

My name is Rie Furukawa. I’m the manager of Sato Sushi’s Beechwood branch. I learned of your event this morning through calls from two friends who reside in Grafton.

My branch would like to take part in this event. An hour ago, Ms. Kaori Akia, owner of Sato Sushi, sent a fax to me granting permission to participate.

Please provide the number of the bank account number that has been set up so that I can transter the correct amount shortly after we close on the final day of the event. You may contact me by e-mail at rfurukawa@SatoSushi.com or telephone at 737-902-1638.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Rie Furukawa

Dear Mr. Rigetti:

Our records indicate that, as of the 20th of this month, three months will have passed since Winslow installed the elevator in the apartment building that you manage. According to clause five of the contract that you signed, thorough inspections of all elevators and escalators must be conducted every three months following the date of installation. This, of course, is necessary for the safety of people who use the elevator.

I strongly recommend scheduling a time next week because, from November 234 to November 30, our technicians wil be extremely busy installing escalators at a shopping center in Chicago, which is almost two hours from here.

Please contact me about this matter either by phone at 601-834-0892 or e-mail atrmccarthy@Winslow.com.

Sincerely,

Ralph McCarthy, Head of Inspections

Dear Mr. McCarthy,

Thank you so much for reminding me of the inspection. I remember Ms. Ellen Richardson explaining that particular clause of the contract when I first contacted you office. However, eight new tenants have moved into this building during the past two weeks so I did not have a chance to contact you.

I will be away next weeks as I have some vacation time coming to me. However, my assistant, Claude Boisseau, will be here to let you in for the inspection. Any afternoon from Monday to Thursday is convenient for us because on Fridays we are usually busy showing apartments to people who are interested in living here.

Please call Ms. Boisseau at 604-902-1855 to let her know which day we can expect your technicians.

Again, thank you for contacting me.

Sincerely,

Angelo Rigetti, Manager
