Dear Ms. Choi,

I am the distribution director of Better Orchards, as well-known apple producer. We have over 300 acres of well-managed orchards and we sell our apples in 17 supermarkets all over Cornwall City.

Our business is expanding very rapidly and starting next year, our fruit will be sold in 12 recently-opened supermarkets north of Cornwall. Currently, we rely on Lovely Valley Distribution Ltd. to handle shipping within Cornwall City, but the company has informed me that it cannot satisfy our increasing distribution needs north of Cornwall.

Although Better Orchards does not meet the exact qualifications for the special that you are offering to new clients, our company is planning to raise production by 25% before next year ends. This increase would put us over the minimal amount required for the discount. I would like to discuss the lowest shipping rate that you are repaired to offer Better Orchards. I would really appreciate it if you could phone me concering this matter as soon as possible.

Thank you and I hope to hear from you very soon.

Sincerely,

Marvin Badstreeet.

Subject: Membership status

Dear Mr. Lancaster:

Thank you very much for your offer of a new membership. Regrettably, however, I have decided not to renew my membership. Following a friend’s suggestion, I have decided become a member of EverythingReading.com. Their Gold membership offers the same benefits you provide, but the price is £3 cheaper than yours.

Although I have had no difficulties with the search features or the online review provided for each book, I have become increasingly frustrated with the “Availability” feature. Whenever I click on this button, I receive  a message telling me that I would receive an e-mail within 24 hours as to whether or not the book is available. Most times, however, the notice does not arrive my inbox.

I recall a specific incident in mid August: I logged onto Plentiful Volumes on August 8 requesting information about a textbook titled “Practical Ideas for Creating Your Own Web sites”. I needed this particular volume for a night class. A friend told me that it costs £19 in bookstores but only £17 online so I decided to order it through Plentiful Volumes. However, I received no e-mail until the following Tuesday and I purchased it at Hansen’s Bookshop just one block from here. I had no choice because the class was set to begin the next day, Wednesday.

I learned from my instructor that “Practical Ideas for Creating Your Own Web sites” is used by many schools and training institutes because it was written by Eleanor Davis of Jackson Web Designers, the country’s top homepage agency. Since it is so popular , I don’t understand why Plentiful Volumes was unable to provide a copy.

I strongly advise making appropriate changes to improve your services.

Sincerely,

Janet Broad
