La Castilo, an exhibition by Lillian Gaultier
After her last exhibition in her hometown of Mexico City, Lillian Gaultier will be returning here to Paris to display her latest exhibition, La Castillo, or “Castle” in English, at the Belanger Art Gallery.
The exhibition features 27 oil paitings of historical buildings that were once used as castles in Mexico, Cuba and Chile. La Castillo will be Gaultier’s third exhibition. Her first exhibition, Pajaros, or Birds premiered three years ago at the Lemaire Gallery, the first-ever gallery to be established in our city. Her second exhibition, Montanas or Mountains, took place at the Belanger Art Gallery just last year. The key difference between La Castillo and Gaultier’s previous paintings is that the subjects are buildings rather than elements of nature.
