I just received the deadline for the materials we’ll need for the sales conference presentations: October first. I would appreciate it if you could have your staff start putting together what author photos they have. We’re going to do the same thing we did last year.
We’ll (1)……….. the book cover along with a photo of the author.
I know that we have quite a few photographs on file, but please have one of your staff go over them, as I’m sure not all of (2)……….. are in useable condition. New authors will send in their shots, which have to meet certain size, print and paper quality requirements.
This point needs to be made very clear to new authors. It often happens that authors send in a perfectly good photo of themselves, but because it doesn’t meet our technical requirements for the projector, we lose valuable time in trying to (3)……….. it.
Any other materials that you think would help, please send along.

THE EDINBURGH PLEXIGLAS CORPORATION, which has been operating a successful plastics (4)……….. plant in Edinburgh has transferred its manufacturing facility to an industrial park just outside of Tampico, Mexico.
The company (5)……….. “global competition” as among its reasons for reducing operating costs.
The ideally situated plant in Edinbuergh is now being used as an administrative headquarters (6)……….. a research and development facility. The company is considering a joint venture with a German manufacturer in developing and fabricating new products at the Edinburgh plant.

This is (7)……….. Thursday’s telephone conversation about the purchase of the Intex 5000 computer and to thank you again for the invitation to take part in the Pusan Project in New Delhi. I appreciate your thinking of me.
I found out today that I will be in East Grinstead on Monday, June fourth. If it works for you, I could meet you in London either on the morning of the third or the fifth. It would be an excellent (8)……….. to work out the details of the ad campaign in Brunei. I’ll be staying at the Intercontinental on Fulbright Street until the sixth.
I’m hoping that Julie Stein will be able to join us. Did you know that she won the (9)……….. for the “Most Successful Ad” this year? Her experience would be invaluable for the Pusan Project.

The main topic of last week’s meeting was suggestion boxes. All departments in the factory are to have conspicuously labeled suggestion boxes. At the meeting, it was (10)……….. that the employees’ suggestions would not only save the company money, but would do much to lift morale and (11)……….. production.
To further this process, the suggestion box idea was adopted.
Forms for the suggestions are to be kept inside the box. When employees fill out a form, they should clearly state which situation they are trying to improve, list all pertinent data, and then offer a solution, stating how the company would benefit.
Forms will then be collected each month by the department heads, who will then pass them on to the plant manager. Where necessary, the plant manager will consult with the respective departments to gather any relevant data. If applicable, the matter will then be passed on to the finance department for approval. A bonus will be paid to employees for any suggestions that are adopted. The amount of the bonus will be (12)……….. with the savings to the company.
