Questions 1-2 are about the following e-mail.

Dear Mike,

Today we had an amazing football game. It was wet and cold but our quarterback had a great game anyway. He played spectacularly but the other team also played well. In the fourth quarter the score was tied up and my coach called me in to play defense. I hadn't played all game so I was pretty nervous. Then, on the very first play, the other team ran the ball right at mc. I made a decent tackle and stopped the running back short of the first down. The ball was back in our possession.

Everyone was really impressed and said it was an excellent tackle. I was happy with my performance. But as soon as our offense was on the field, we lost the ball and had to go right back out. This time the other team's quarterback took the ball and passed it right over the middle. I dove to my left and caught the ball on my fingertips. It was an interception! I was so excited that I forgot to give the ball back to the referee and my coach had to take it from me on the sideline. He said I could keep it after the game.

After that we scored and won the game. The coach said I was the most valuable player of the game and said that I would be starting next week. I thought I would write you a quick e-mail letting you know how the game went. After all, you're the one who inspired me to start playing football! I hope you are having a good day and I'll talk to you soon.

   Yours truly,

   Andrew
