    Last Wednesday, our soccer team had a problem. It was cold. In fact, it was snowing. It was also the day that the team had to play in the championship game. The ball was as hard as a rock. It hurt to kick, trap, or catch. The field was solid white and the ball was easy to lose. Plus, it was too cold for shorts. All the players had to wear long pants that made it difficult to run. Somehow both teams managed to play for the whole game.

    The game itself was very close. Neither team was better. Both teams played well. They passed the ball, made tackles, and ran until they were dead tired, but nobody could score a goal. The game ended with the score still being zero to zero. Then overtime came and went without a goal. It was snowing harder and harder. We could barely see the field. The players were still trying as hard as they could, but then the whistle blew. Overtime was over. It was time for penalty kicks.
