Questions 1-2 are about the following passage.
The Neolithic Revolution is the term for the first Agricultural Revolution. Around the year 8000 B.C., humans began to make permanent settlements. This was a gigantic change in the way humans lived and would have large ramifications for human society. Before the Neolithic Revolution, people lived in hunter-gatherer societies that were nomadic. This means that they did not have a fixed home but constantly searched for animals to hunt and plants to eat.
The Neolithic Revolution happened when people began domesticating plants and animals. In order to eat fruits and vegetables, they planted seeds, watered plants, and harvested the crop. Not only were they able to grow their food, but they also found ways to store it. To have meat, milk, and eggs, they tamed animals such as pigs, chickens, and cows. They kept animals and planted gardens close to their homes so they would not have to move around.
The Neolithic Revolution also brought about changes in how people acted. With a stable population that existed in one place, these settlements needed new forms of leadership and government. People could also occupy different positions in society as not everyone was needed to farm and raise animals. These settled societies allowed the development of new culture, arts, and architecture.
