It was Charlie's birthday last Tuesday. When he woke up he was very excited. He got dressed quickly and went downstairs. 'Happy Birthday!' his brother shouted and he gave Charlie a brilliant new computer game. Then Charlie went into the kitchen and saw a very big present. It was from his parents. 'Wow!' said Charlie. 'Can I open it now?'

'Yes,' said Mum.

It was a bike. 'Thank you!' he said. 'It's the bike which I wanted the most.' For breakfast his mum made Charlie his favourite chocolate pancakes.
